"Avoid the wearing away of parts and equipment due to chemical reations through the use of corrosion resistant coatings." Studies indicate the total cost of corrosion issues in the United States alone is in excess of $276 billion dollars!
Corrosion is an electrochimcal process in which a metal reacts with its environment to form an oxide or other compound. The cell which causes this corrosion process has three essential constituents: an anode, a cathode and an electrolyte (electrically conducteding solution). The corrosion process can also be further complicated by the mixture of harmful chemicals and solvents used during various manufacturing processes. Corrosion can be present in a process in different ways: as a primary problem in dealing with corrosive chemicals in dry or wet form, environmental conditions or as a secondary problem associated with the processing and or manufacturing of products. Plasma Coatings has a wide range of coating options to help address corrosion issues. These options include the application ofcorrosion resistance thermally sprayed metals and polymers or a combination of the two technologies. In many instances, our coatings can address the corrosive problem while providing secondary benefits such as release or improved surface hardness promoting erosion resistance.

CapabilitiesThermally Applied Metallic SolutionsStudies indicate that thermal spray metallic solutions provide greater then 20 years of atmospheric and seawater corrosion protection. Common applications include:In house/On siteCorrosion of parts has become a global concern costing industries billions of dollars per year! Plasma Coatings offers numerous thermal spray solutions for the multi-billion dollar corrosion markets. We can apply the proper protective coating in house or come directly to your site.High Temperature Corrosion ApplicationsCoatings and MaterialsLet our expertise work for you. Choosing the right material and process is critical to the performance and life of your equipment. Consideration of numerous critical factors including, types of exposure, temperatures, thermal shock resistance, coating thickness, thermal cyclic conditions, chemical exposure, UV, solvent exposure, sealers, safety and environmental concerns, right down to the aesthetics must all be analyzed to insure the right coating is applied to your parts. Polymer SolutionsOur Polymer solutions are available in many versions that can be tailored to individual application/process problems for gas, liquids or solids. Depending on the part geometry and the aggressiveness of the environment, Corrosive resistant coatings can be applied on site while the equipment is still in service or in one of our plants.
